ROLE SUMMARY

The GL Accountant is critical to ensuring data accuracy within the general ledger accounts. You will report directly to the assistant controller and be responsible for the GL accounts you are assigned as well as auditing the GL accounts assigned to individuals within the department.

The Accounting Team operates in a fast-paced environment and are highly motivated in the execution of accounting functions with the utmost accuracy.

This is an exempt role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· On a regular basis, reconcile accounts with the general ledger. Ensure that all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) and government regulations. Correct any errors that are discovered.

· Ensure data supports budgeting and forecasting requirements and present solutions to control issues.

· At the end of the month or year, record information such as accrual, deferral, reclass, and interdepartmental entries into the company’s accounting ledger. Perform account analysis to make sure that entries and balances are correct.

· With appropriate supporting documentation, prepare journal entries relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, and a variety of other information. Ensure that entries align with generally accepted accounting principles.

· Complete associated annual audit and tax prep steps to ensure the external auditors have all documentation and explanations needed for their work.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s in accounting or Finance
• 3-5 Years’ experience in accounting
• Have a good understanding of accounting functions
• In-depth knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel
• Auditing Experience is a plus but not required
• Self-motivated and highly driven personality
• Positive attitude

• Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing
